The Independent Cinema Office (ICO) is the national organisation for the development and support of independent film exhibition in the UK. The ICO works in association with independent cinemas, film festivals, film societies and the regional and national screen agencies.
Our primary aim is to bring the widest range of films to the widest possible audience. We provide programming advice services to all film societies in the UK with the support of the UK Film Council, on areas as diverse as rights tracking, hire terms, licenses and release patterns.
We also organise special film screening events to give exhibitors the chance to preview films before they are released in cinemas, so they can make informed choices about which films to include in their upcoming programmes.
