Schools

While almost all exhibitions outside of the home require a licence, some educational screenings are exempt. This exemption is narrowly defined and applies only for educational use where the content is shown in the classroom, as part of the curriculum course or study programme. All other school showings require a separate licence. Video uses in your school or campus that are subject to copyright law, include, but are not limited to: rainy day recess, before or after school programmes, parent-teacher organisation events, extracurricular programmes, film clubs, and activities. Boarding schools face the additional challenge of ensuring copyright compliance within common areas of dormitories as these spaces are considered "public".

We licence schools in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In most cases licences are held either directly by the school/academy or in some cases through a local authorities central licence.

For Independent Schools in England & Wales we have a partnership with The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) who administer the issuing the MPLC Umbrella Licence.
